The Ministry of Education launches the fourth edition of the Study in Iraq program to attract international students.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the launch of the fourth edition of the Study in Iraq program for the 2026/2027 academic year, aimed at attracting international students to Iraqi universities.

During a press conference, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Halo Al-Askari, confirmed that the Study in Iraq online platform will be available for international students to apply to postgraduate programs starting today, May 4, 2026, until July, and to undergraduate programs until September.

He explained that the ambition of the fourth edition for the 2026/2027 academic year is not limited to maintaining the enrollment levels achieved in previous years, but extends to enhancing academic and cultural diversity across seventy-eight public and private universities. This aims to enrich their academic environments with international experiences that contribute to strengthening the quality of education and fostering intellectual openness.

The Minister of Education commended the sustainability of this vital program, noting that internationalization has always been a cornerstone of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's priorities and its institutions' guiding principles. It serves as the compass that directs their institutional efforts, enhancing the standing of Iraqi universities on the international academic stage and strengthening the excellence of their scientific and research outputs.
